The basics

What is M IN?

M IN is a free app for iPhone and Android for small, real plans with people near you. Someone posts a plan, like chai at 7, cricket at 6 am, or a walk around the lake. You ask to join, the host says yes, and a private chat opens for everyone who's going. Then you meet. It's for people 18 and over.

Is M IN free?

Yes. No subscription, no boosts, no paying to be seen. If that ever changes we'll say so on this site first, in plain words, before it happens.

Is M IN a dating app?

No. Plans are for small groups, usually three to six people, in public places. There's no swiping and no matching. If two people who met at a plan want to talk, one can wave, and the other can wave back or not. That's as far as it goes.

Which cities is M IN in?

We're starting in South India, with Hyderabad and Vijayawada first. Then more cities in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, then the rest of the south. The app works anywhere, but you'll only see plans if people near you are posting them. If you want M IN where you live, write to support@sayim.in and we'll add your city to the tally.

Where do I download it?

M IN is for iPhone and Android. The App Store and Google Play listings aren't live yet, so the buttons on our home page say "Coming soon". The moment they're up, those buttons will take you straight there.

How do I meet new people in Hyderabad?

Do small things you already like, with a few people, more than once. In Hyderabad that could be Irani chai at Nimrah on a Sunday morning, a walk around KBR Park, or a box cricket slot in Gachibowli that's two players short. On M IN you can see plans like that near you and ask to join, or post your own. We've written up what people do in Hyderabad on M IN.

Is there a free app to find people to play cricket with near me?

Yes, M IN. Cricket is exactly the kind of plan it's for. Someone posts "need two more, 6 am" with the ground and the time, and you ask to join. In Vijayawada that might be the IGMC Stadium grounds before it gets hot. In Hyderabad, a box cricket turf in Gachibowli after work. The app is free. If a turf needs booking, that's between the players, and nobody should ask you to pay before you've met.

How can I make friends in a new city in India?

Friendships usually come from seeing the same few people again, not from big events. Pick one or two things you'd do anyway, a morning walk, a weekend game, a film, and do them with people nearby. When a plan goes well, say yes to the next one with the same people. M IN makes the first step easier: you see small plans near you and can join with one tap, without anyone needing your number.

Safety and privacy

Is it safe to meet strangers from an app?

It can be, when both sides do the boring things. On our side: everyone is verified before they can host or join, every photo is checked before it goes up, a person reads every report, and chats are end-to-end encrypted. On yours: meet in public, get there and back on your own, tell a friend where you're going, and leave if it feels off. More in the safety centre.

Do I need to be verified?

Yes. You verify your account in the app before you can host or join anything, and verified profiles carry a tick that hosts see before they say yes. M IN does not ask for Aadhaar, PAN or any government ID.

Who can see my phone number?

Nobody. Not the host, not the people in the plan, not the person you waved at. We keep it to ourselves, and every conversation happens inside the app.

Is my chat private?

Yes. Every plan chat and every private conversation is end-to-end encrypted, and the keys live on your phone. We can't read your messages. If you report a message, your phone sends us that one message, with your consent, so we have something to act on.

How do I report someone?

Open their profile, tap the three dots, then Report. You can block them at the same time, and they aren't told who reported them. For a plan, use the three dots on the plan. For a message, long-press it. A person on our side reads every report. If someone is in danger right now, call 112 first.

Plans

What if nobody joins my plan?

Then you have a chai by yourself, which is not the worst Sunday. Plans with a clear time, a real place and a short, specific name fill faster. "Walk around KBR, 6:30, slow pace" beats "anyone free?" every time.

Can I leave a plan?

Yes. Open the plan and tap Leave. Your spot opens up for someone else, and you lose access to that plan's chat. If the host hasn't said yes yet, you can withdraw your request instead. A quick message to the group before you go is kind.
